Our Active Learning Floor and Wall Stickers have been developed to support the teaching of Literacy, Numeracy, Health and Wellbeing through indoor movement.
In North America this has become popular through #SensoryPathways to support children with Autism and ADHA but our packs encourage cross-curricular learning for all through inclusive movement around a school by implementing interactive floor designs using self-adhesive stickers that even the children can implement the layout and fit themselves!
The floor stickers are designed to be large enough to create and impact but small enough to be easy to fit, many even by the children.
When a child with a sensory processing disorder such as Autism is in a mainstream classroom they are processing all the things most others can tune out, simple things like sitting up straight, temperature, smells, others’ conversation. This may create levels of anxiety and subsequently they may require a “brain break” from the surrounding distractions.
These children may love jumping, hopping skipping and fast movement, behaviours which are difficult to accommodate within the classroom but by using areas outside the classroom, the child can still be supervised in an environment where they can benefit from “time out” activities where “jammed” neurological pathways can be cleared.
Our Active Learning Floor and Wall Sticker packs can be used to create sensory “paths” that can be used to create a break for children to be able to “reset” by processing simple activities like stepping, jumping, placing hands on walls, skipping or jumping on instructional shapes.
